I think he's trying to tune in to a fie without the tower, and scratching his head why he has to "Tune in" to the frequency and declare downwind, final leg etc.

That's how it's supposed to be and I don't think you can fix that. It's only at small (private?) airfileds. Major ones has ATC talking to you.

Yea.... But it doesnt seem right that i am taking off with a 737 and just announcing my position... I live near the actual airport and it has the main control center for the area. In FS2002 its missing.

Glitches, glitches. Too many of them. I was flying in 1903 and they had ATC. Hmmmmmmmm.

Cor blimey luvvaduck as they say in some parts of the world.

Never heard such cobblers from a bunch of moaning ole ladies.

Pull your fingers out, get out yer AFCAD and put in any frqs you want for Ground, Tower and Clearance Delivery (but make sure they're not already in use in any other local airfields)

Check from an airfield that's close by what the Approach and any other Zone frqs are and put those in too. Then you can add AI if you want (as you've now got a Tower frq)

As you're talking about FS2002, if you want navaids you'll have to use EasyNavs to add em.

You can do almost anything you want with this sim - the number of real glitches created by M$ are way less than the number of people who moan about problems that actually don't exist.

;)
