I've been having a problem with my Lear 45.  Microsofts Lear that is.  When I power up it powers up normal but when I power down to coast it keeps coasting at too fast a speed and does not slow down.  Whats the problem?

When you touch down you need to hit the brakes AND the thrust reverser (F2).

ha ha, I'm sorry, I meant during a taxi.  I think its some glitch in the program or something.  I power up to about 15-20 knots and then I take the power off and it doesn't lose any speed and this goes on for a long distances.  I have had this happen with other 3rd party aircraft but no Microsoft so much.  So what can I do??

This can happen if the settings in the aircraft editor are altered, especially the thrust setting. When this is increased, your idle thrust also increases, which will cause a minor problem when taxing and even on final approach and touchdown. The aircraft seems to want to constantly go.

If the settings were not altered, check your throttle calibration and "null" zone settings. If the "null" zone setting is too much, the throttle will not idle down completely, nor will the throttle go to full thrust.

HTH.

By any chance do you have FSUIPC installed I found out that this program can alter taxi speeds. Although the only plane I had noticed any change to was the KING AIR 350 no matter where the levers were at it wanted to try and take off while taxing you had to ride the brakes in order to keep it under control. But when I removed FSUIPC I had no problem controllig it. I think that there is a setting some where in FSUIPC that you can uncheck so it does not alter taxi speeds. But since I now use FS2004 I use a diferent program called FSCONNECT not sure if it will work for FS2002.

The King Air thing where you hit the throttle once....the lever graphics didn't even move...but that King Air would get up and go at idle.

Yeah, my King Air and Caravan also do this.

If you ever want to remove FSUIPC just remove the FSUIPC.dll file in the modules folder of FS2002. It will be history 8)
