Dean Reimer's F-18 as AI

Has anyone successfully used Dean's Hornet as an AI aircraft?

I'm trying, but I've encountered a problem before the plane even starts to taxi - it has no visible landing gear!  It's just sitting there on the tarmac, floating a few feet off the ground.

I had the same problem with an F-14, but I switched to a different model and that fixed it.  But unfortunately, I'm unable to find another version of the F-18.  I'd like to use this one if at all possible, since it's the most common, and there seem to be several different repaints out there for it, which would make for nice variety (plus it looks great!).

And for that matter, I have one other landing gear issue with it:  when I look at the rotating version of it on the menu screen, the struts aren't there; just the aircraft floating over the wheels, with no struts connecting them.  But when I go to actually fly it, they show up okay in the external view.

Any ideas?

Dean's hornets are FSDS1 models, that's why the gear won't show up as AI. If you search, there are a couple AI/gmax/low poly hornets for download that work great as AI

Only Gmax or FSDS2 models will show the gear correctly as AI

Aha.  Okay, thanks for clearing that up.  Now I know what types to look for for AI purposes, and which to avoid.

I did run across a file called ai_f18.zip an hour or so after my first post, and sure enough, the gear shows up.  It's also a simpler model, and will be easier on my low-end system.   :)
