The Ultimate Panel?

Hi Guys,

As some of you know from my previous posts, 1, I'm new to FS2K2 and 2, I can't get my home grown AI flights to show up. Well, i got tired of playing with the AI, and decided to try playing with customizing my plane.  I came across this panel online:http://www.fs2000.org/last/news.asp?id=5785

I spent a couple hours playing around with it, and I'm a bit overawed with it. It seems to do EVERYTHING.

I'm doing this post to ask for opinons from people more experienced with FS2K2 than myself. Is this really a "WOW!" or is it a "Yeah. that's nice."?

The only prob that I had with it was that my B-52H wobbled side to side on AP like a graceful, yet seriously drunk elephant.

I'm also starting to think that this panel may have TOO much on it. Could the stuff I like be added to a more conventional panel using FS Panel Studio?

Last, since I don't have FS Panel Studio, what's free for download that works just as good?

   Till next time...
Sue

Sue,

This panel is a variant of one that appeared a while back with a fictitious personal supersonic transport called the C4 SST, which you can find in the 2002 download pages here at SimV. This is a fun plane to fly (and FAST!). You're right - it has heaps of stuff on it. Since the C4 SST doesn't seem to suffer from wobble, perhaps it's more of a feature of your plane's dynamics rather than the panel.

:)

Hi Sue & welcome

It takes a while to get used to Traffic Tools. I started off by swapping some of the default traffic with addon aircraft & progressed from there. Whitey's tute shows the basic principle. http://www.simviation.com/lair/Ttools1.htm

As a new member here you might not realise that Bonzonie is one of the old regulars. He even has his own section of the forum. He's no longer around much due to real world commitments but this might answer some of your queries on his B-52. http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=bonzie
He also has his own website. http://simviation.com/bonzonie/

Last, since I don't have FS Panel Studio, what's free for download that works just as good?

CfgEdit from the Panel Design section works fine with FS2002 but cannot handle XML gauges.

This is not a problem if you take the time to learn how to manually edit Panel.cfg in Notepad.

That panel came with one of the A380 downloads off this site ..... I find it a frame rate killer ... but then if you look @ my puter spec in my sig then its obvious why... its a nice panel none the less.
