I need help setting up a flight

Postby Auriga » Tue Mar 16, 2004 6:42 pm

For a project I am trying to set up a task in which I can have people fly a course in the sky. I have already found another program to create what looks like big frames in the sky to fly through. My question is how do I set up FS2002 so that I can have the flight start at a certain point in the sky (i.e. how do I specify the long, lat, and alt for the flight to start at)? I will need to make people fly this same course several times, so I need to be able to save the data for that run of the course and restart it again right away. I am new at this and don't know how to use FS2002 very well at all (so please don't assume i have a lot of background knowledge about this). Also, what control yoke do most people use with FS2002. I have a CH Products Virtual Pilot Pro but I cannot get it calibrated. If it would be easier for anyone email me my address is christine9363@aol.com. Thank you very much....any advice is greatly appreciated.

You just want to save where you are so you can start at the same time, place, altitude, etc. whenever you want, right?

You just have to save the flight where you want to resume next time.  Alt-Flights-Save flight or ;

Give it a name and you can get right back where you were by  selecting that flight from the main menu (Select a Flight) or from the Alt-Flights menu.  All of your settings will be the same.

Don' know about the stick.

Hi,

You can use slew mode and the 2D map to specify your position. SImply create a new flight at a near airport and once on the runway press ALT and from the menu bar on top choose World-->Map. This will bring up a 2D map where you are shown as a small airplane. You drag-and-drop it anywhere you want on the map (on the left you also see the Lon/Lat). Next, using the fields on the left, specify your altitude, heading and airspeed. Save the flight and you are ready.

Now, about the yoke. I don
