LOUSY SOUND

HELP!!!

New to FS2002 and this is probably simple to experienced users.  All my voices (ATC, Rod Machado, ATIS, etc) sound like they are speaking into a paint can-very echo-ey about 95 % unintelligible.  I have a good sound card and have tried every possible setting that I could think of.  This is the only program on my computer that does this.  Any ideas?????

                                Thanks in advance!!

Does the game seem jumpy at all? Sometimes if the game gets laggy, jumpy, or something like that in, for example, a very dense area of scenery (not that mine does ;)) it can slow down and cause the sound to jump as well. I run on Windows 98 (and we all know how reliable it is ;)) so it naturally crashes on me sometimes. When it starts jumpin around, the sound will do it too. Hit Shift+Z twice and check your frames per second (FPS) and get back to me. :D

No jumpy frames.  Everything other than the sound is fine.  While I am new to the program, I am a Flight Instructor and the instruments react very realistically.
Running XP on a pretty good machine.

                                        Thanks for trying!!

Hi bjax,

Dont really have an answere, but have you tested your sound in the directx diagnostics utility. May shed some light.

Start>run> (type)dxdiag

Cheers,
Dave

What sound card? Is it rather new? I have a vintage one from my computer (look I got this PC running Win 95 lol) and it still works great, but it's a suggestion. ::)
