AI has F'd Off

I used to have the skies teeming with AI activity.  However, recently the skies have gone quiet; there's nothing.

When I used TTools to Decompile and Recompile I could see that all the data was being used but this has not resolved anything.

Initially TTools could not find FS even when using the 'Locate' facility in the latest edition.  So I have re-installed FS2K2 and then restored everything else from an image file.  So TTools can now find the FS directory and uses the correct files.

I don't even have the stock aircraft.

I have everything maxed out for Dynamic scenery.

All sensible suggestions welcome.

As much as I hate to say it, perhaps a reinstall?

There is a traffic file somewhere you need to make sure you have

Do a search on the folder for traffic*

I believe the extension is .bgl but just search for it. With the wildcard thing there "*"

If your traffic.bgl file is located in your FS2002\SCENEDB\ATC\Scenery directory and you still don't have AI, you might want to look in your FS2002\Aircraft folder and see if you have a file called 'DEFAULT.DP' in it

Naturally have Traffic.bgl hence chat about TTools being successful.

However, I do NOT have a Default.dp in my aircraft folder.  What is this?

Sorry, I have got the Default.CDP file in the aircraft folder.

The file you need is named default.dp NOT default.CDP

If it's not there I suspect you deleted it by mistake. You can extract the file from one of the CAB files on CD-1 with WinZip. Sorry but I forget which one. Paste it into FS2002\AIRCRAFT.

PS. You can safely delete default.CDP as a new one will be created when you start FS2002 - providing you have default.dp in the correct location..

:)  Genius, pure genius!

Thanks very much.

P.S. What is this file's role?

OK, well many thanks.

It's deletion would have been the result of over zealous tidying up.

Can you get a program or modify the AI to crash???  I know that it sounds kind of mallicious but it would be quite the spectacle as an add on.
