Something wrong with pilots when they land at KMIA

I think they either go to sleep after the long flight or are afraid to request progessive taxi

Since this is a pic they look normal but look at the ATC chatter and also, the plane goes there and doesn't move. I checked the nods with AFCAD and they are connected.

Its always been like that but I have ignored since I just took off and left KMIA in the distance. I land, take another taxiway if necessary but now with PAI I wanted to check out the traffic and now its bugging me that they get stuck.

I tried searching for some AFCAD KMIA Facility thingies and nothing. Any ideas?

I hope I won't have to disconnected that taxiway completely and make them turn on the other since its a pretty long way and they taxi slower than a snail, if y'know what I mean. I would have 100 planes going around, including me!

Don't the aircraft disappear after a while when they are not moving? I thought MS included this little 'fix' so they wouldn't have to worry too much about those types of problems.

It must be something to do with the layout of the airport taxiways or maybe there aren't enough parking spaces, try changing the possible taxi routes and see if it improves and then gradually build it up. Thats what I'd do anyway. Maybe they don't know the com frequencies!?

Hi,

Doesn't just happen at KMIA.

Just go to a Wal-Mart parking lot the day after Thanksgiving, and watch 2 drivers face off when they see someone heading for their car in a good parking stall, usually with 3 carts so it will be at least 5 a minute wait.  :)

Cheers,
dave

The same thing is happening at LAX. I sat next to the active runway and watched the trafic. There were four aircraft waiting for over and hour. PLUS many landing aircraft were doing go arounds when the runway was clear. I think to this day those planes are still waiting. Maybe it's a conflict between some of the airline packages? I also have aircraft that taxi on the grass at JFK. :'(

Its crazy!

Yeah I will make them use another taziway then...going to download the rest of the packages and make OPA my home airport then lol. Thanks for the replies. This is still open if anyone has a better solution.

LOL      I just finished flying from MIA in a real airplane, and the ACTUAL version isn't much different!  :D

The ATC & AI in this game isn't great, hopefully they improved it in FS2004.  I love it when an AI 737 or something and my small prop plane end up facing each other on the same taxiway like some kind of a Mexican Standoff.  "Back off, pal.  I don't care if you are the 800 pound gorilla here."  Or same thing when I'm the 737 and the AI is a 747.

Sometimes I see AI planes just landing and taxing in the dirt, as if the runway textures in the game aren't in the right place.

What really ticks me off is the way ATC sequences airplanes and how AI planes don't exit the runway quickly.  When the AI planes take forever to get off the runway, its a problem when you are on final.  (Once in real life at Daytona Int'l, Tower told some guy in a 172 or something small to "expedite" off the runway, and some old timer pilot answers back, "I'm expeditin' and fast as I can expedite!"  The controller didn't reply.)  So tower ends up telling you to go around.  I usually just land anyway, as having another airplane on the runway makes the landing more challenging.  Or you are #1 to land in something slow, and the #2 guy is something fast, and the AI plane basically cuts you off, streaks by you on final, and lands ahead of you.

The solution is just to change the time of day by a minute or so, as this resets all the AI airplanes.
