Auto-Setting Trim Tabs

I have a problem with several aircraft with auto-setting trim tabs. Whenever I try to climb or dive, the tabs quickly move themselves up or down, depending on whether I go up or down. What canI do about this?

Did you disengage autopilot?

Quite right, Packer... ;)...!
You manually adjust the trim tabs for straight and level flight with "Autopilot" off.
With Autopilot on you have to dial up the required altitude on the radios before selecting "Autopilot".
The plane will then fly at the desired hight, and automatically adjust the trim tabs to maintain that height.

Cheers... ;D...!

No, the autopilot is off. The tabs move all the way up or down when I move up or down. I rarely ever use the auto pilot, and when I do, I usually don't have it set right, so I turn it off.

Hi ....pilot
What plane are you training in?
A Boeing 747 or a Cessna C152/172 trainer?
You should have no problems practicing with the trainer, including experimenting with the radios... ::)...!
...more details...?

Cheers mate... ;D...!

Hi Aspireing..

I cud never get used to those auto-trim tabs either, so wud remove them....Some planes installation instructions tell you how to disable auto-trim if you wish.

If your familiar with editing the panel.cfg file it's easily fixed.

Some have an 'autotrim.gau'(example) in addition to a 'normaltrim.gau' (example) that adds the auto function to the standard trim gauge. You can remove or comment
