two questions with one stone

hello fellow sim'ers
I have two questions I would like to ask, the first one is.
How can I get better stability out of aircraft that have speeds in excess of mach 1? I have the model for the SR-71a, and after I reach 600 knots groundspeed, my force feedback joystick starts yanking left and right. And all other input from the joystick ceases to respond except the throttle until I fall below 600knots.
The second one is:
How can I start my flights on the tarmac with all power off? IMHO it is unrealistic to start on the runway with power on, and ask ATC for permissions only to get told to hold short of the runway due to traffic, and get into a collision before being able to get in the air.
I would appreciate any advice, or links to add-ons.
Thanks.

Hi Inkil. I have no knowledge of FF joysticks so can't help there.
You can start a flight anywhere in any situation you wish. Simply select the aircraft, airport & location (runway or ramp) , time etc. from the menu & when the sim loads shut down the engines. Then save the flight from Flights/Save Flight on the menu bar & check the "Make this the default flight" box. You can also slew to another position before saving the flight or start in the air if you wish.
I believe there's a utility posted here that allows you to start from a cold, dark cockpit if you prefer. I've never tried it & forget the file name.

welcome to SimV.
my guess for the reason you geting the shaking is because you have reached a point where the sound waves build up on the wings. if i remember right its somewhere around mach 1.1 where you finaly break the sound barier. then things should smooth out. i fly the concorde a lot and have the same problem.
as for the other question. Just like hagar said you can start at the gates and ramps or the runway. when you select the airport go to where it says ACTIVE RUNWAY and click on the arrow next to it. you can then select where you want to start.
as for starting out with everything turned off there is a utility that you can download. but like Hagar i have never used it. ill go and look for it and post the link for you.
hope that answers you questions.
and once again Welcome to SimV

I appreciate the help...
I will look thru the cfg file for the SR71 and see if there is anything on the FF information...
or most likely sit and wait to see if someone has encountered this and figured out a way to correct it.
thanks for the tip on the 'not on runway' start

Once you're finished with a flight, save it and load it when you want to fly again

I never have to worry about it since I always continue where I left off

Hi Inkil,
If you prefer to start all flights 'dark', simply create a flight, click fly now, shut the aircraft down( 'go dark'), and then save the flight and make it the default flight.
Now in any future flights you create, any aircraft will start 'dark'.

Maybe the problem is with the aircraft .air file.
Which SR-71 is it you downloaded? There is a very good version on here which I tried and didn't get the any problems with my Force feedback.
Try this one if you haven't already:
http://www.simviation.com/fstop20_220303.htmIts in a top 20 so it can't be bad!
