GPS window, no work???

I've had FS2002 for a couple of months now and I haven't really had much of a need to use the GPS window, but I thought I'd try to sort it out now anyway, as it just came to mind.  ???

The Sim has been installed as per usual, there are no special circumstances etc to do with the install that I did.

When I select the GPS window, all I get is the black screen background, there is nothing on it. I have FS2000, and it works fine, so I know what it's supposed to do.  ;D
So I just use the 'map' in the 'world dropdown menu' to navigate by eye. ;D ;)

What might the problem be?  ???

Hi Brensec old chum. If you've installed any 3rd party aircraft with their own panels I suspect you've overwritten the default GPS.gau with an earlier version. You can retrieve the gauge from one of the CAB files on CD-1. I forget which one, I think it's either Aircraft.cab or FS2002.cab. CAB files can be opened with WinZip & selected files extracted in the usual way.

This is a common problem. I always advise people to install gauges separately & not overwrite existing files if prompted. For the same reason, never extract zipfiles direct to the sim.

Thanks mate,

I'll just do a reinstall  ;D

I knew it would be something simple like that. Although I would have thought the FS2000 GPS would work in FS2002. The problem is I don't think of it as a gauge............lol.  ;D ;D ;)

OK. It's your decision. My method is much easier, quicker & far less trouble than a reinstall. ::)
