What does it take to get real time weather in FS2k2?
Is it an add-on, payware or setting?

Make sure you're on-line, go to the 'weather' setting, and click on 'real world weather'. That's it. The program gets a download from Jeppesen based on the most local weather station to where you are in the sim.

I recommend ActiveSky. It stays linked to the internet while you're flying and when weather changes or you pass into a new station radius it automatically updates. It also does much more.
There is a payware and a freeware version.

Last time I checked, which was a couple months ago, the freeware version of ActiveSky no longer worked with FS2002.

yes use Activesky for real time weather rather than going into the download section of FS to get the Jeppeson data (which sometimes CTDs also)
Activesky is one of my top rated FS addons.

ActiveSky always worked for me. I uninstalled FS2002 a few weeks back, and it still worked then.
