3DFX Voodoo3 video card

I would like to know why FS2002 freeze on landing or taxi to gate after a flight of 2 to 3 hours at 4 X the speed.
I do have a 3DFX Voodoo3 card with the earliest driver I could find. What is the best video card to have for Flight Simulator
