Misadventures comes to Europe!

Well I have finally made it to Europe, I think...
I am currently in Ankara Turkey, my atlas considers it the Middle East, but FS2002 has it listed under Europe, for you guys who live over that way, which is actually correct?

While I am visiting Europe, besides the obvious locations, are there any places anyone would suggest I visit?
I would like to pay a visit to all my European SimV friends, so if you list your hometown airport, I will try to make a stop in your town, I will not promise I will be able to stop everywhere.

Once I make it to Istanbul, which should be tonight, I am going to stop and update my website and start coming up with a plan for my trip around Europe.
This is the last big tour in my RTW Misadventures as I don't foresee many stops in Africa or South America.

I have been very anxious to make it to Europe and can't wait to stop and have a mug with everyone, so list your location and I will try to work you into my Misadventures.

I think that turkey is politically part of Europe gut geographically closer to the middle east.

Pop into Norwich (EGSH) and I'll stand you a pint Paz.

Depends which side of the Bosphorus you are on; one side is in Europe, the other side in Asia.

Oh no, grab the air raid wardens hat. Paz is here!!! Well Paz if you drop into Budapest on your way to somewhere I'll cook up a fabulous Hungarian dinner completely with great local vino for you ;)
Good bits to do, well Britain has loads of stuff, Paris is nice (but the airports around it knacker frame rates for some unknown reason).
Whilst in Europe you should visit the Low Countries, and don't miss Germany and Italy of course. If you like beautiful mountains, then Austria and Switzerland are a must.
If you need Sangria then you'll have to pop down to Spain to refresh your thirst. Greece has Ouzo (uech :P), and the Nordic countries have many beautiful girls.
Czech Rep. is a must if you like good beer and pretty girls, heck Europe is just awash with great stuff ;D

Ozzy ;)

This seems to pretty much hit the nail on the head, I have been doing a little research into this matter and it seems extreme western Turkey is considered Europe and the rest of the country is considered Asia, but when I was looking it up in my Encarta, it also said (see Middle East).
So when I looked up a list of European countries, Turkey was not on that list, therefore I will include my stops in Turkey as part of my final Middle East update to Misadventures.

Will, it is likely to be some time before I reach Great Britain, but you are on my list, chances are as I near the U.K. I will create another post similar to this one, because I know there are a lot of fine folks from the U.K. that hang out here at SimV.

Ozzy, I should make Hungary within a week or two, looking at my atlas, I will most likely visit Greece before working my way north, I expect my European visit to last quite a while, there are so many great places to see, and I plan to cover many of them as possible.

If anyone else would like me to come trash I mean visit your city, just post it here.

So when you see me coming, just stand back aways, because you never know, I might land okay...or I might not, and if you have anything cool in your city for me to try to fly under, then you might want to stand back a little further.
Doesn't Paris have a really famous arch?

Brace yourselves Europe, here I come! :D

Hi Paz
I have been fearing this moment... will we have a nuclear attack in this part of the world at last? If you don't intend to drop nukes then you are welcome at EHTE the Netherlands, there's a nice pub near the runway.
Download the NL2000 scenery first
(at  http://www.nl-2000.com/nuke/) otherwise the country will be even more flat then it actually is.
By the way: I live very near to this small airport and occasionally there is a Learjet visiting. See if you can land it too! (and proof it with a screenshot)

Cheers
AJ

I have no intentions of breaking out my trusty nuke equipped DC-3 while within European airspace, I can't think of anyplace right off hand that is deserving of such a pleasant gift.
However, if anyone would like me to drop a bomb somewhere, just let me know and I'll try to work it into my trip. ;D

I added you to my list AJ, I look forward to meeting you at the pub.
Netherlands huh? WOW! are you near Amsterdam?!

Once again Paz, Norwich(EGSH) could do with a thirty megaton clearout, if you could arrange it........

Ahh, interesting indeed. You could always drop by my home-base in Gothenburg, Sweden (ESGG), then we could practice ground effect flyby's with a 737  ;D

Better watch those Turks, Paz. They will poke you with the pointy end of the stick if you're not careful ;D ;D ;D

Hope you have a good misadventure or two in the Old Countries.

Maybe you could do some flying around Mont Blanc. That ought to be worth a laugh or two!! :D :D ???

Paz the arch you are thinking of in Paris is Le Arc de Triumph (is that the correct spelling, my French is terrible!).
If I give you the co-ordinates could you bomb my sister?

Mark ;D

Sure, I can bomb your sister, just let me know where.

I have jotted a little "B" next to your name on my list. I'll let you know when I am in the area so you can "Run to the hills."

I put you on my list Nexus, Sweden is way the heck up there, so it might be a while before I get that far north.

It is looking like my visit to Europe is going to be more fun than I originally anticipated, I am still in Ankara, but hopefully tonight I will be able to move on to Istanbul.

Yesterday was my wifes birthday so I didn't get any flying in.
I did take some time to study my atlas though, it seems Europe is a bit of an odd shape, what with Italy hanging off to the south and Norway, Sweden and Finland way, way to the north, but I think I am coming up with a good plan that will minimize backtracking.
Obviously I cannot avoid all backtracking due to the position of the countries, but that is okay, I will make my way around Europe in a manner that will finish up in Spain so I can cross over to Africa.

No I'm not, but everything you need to make your long boring stint back across the ocean bearable is freely available in the east of the country as well.
Oh well, Amsterdam is only about 60 nm away so if you really want to go there...

Enjoy your stay in the old world.
