Guages- I need some

Here's the deal. I have flight sime 2002 (obviously) and I am in love with downloading all these new aircraft, but for some reason the panels are coming up with a lot of blank spots. I'm assuming, for the time being or until I am corrected, that this is due to the fact that I do not have professional edition. Perhaps a lot of the aircraft that I don't have provide the guages that are needed for these newly downloaded aircraft. Would it be a violation of MS licensing if I were to attempt to ask others out there for copies of their guages? I have looked on the websites and am not coming up with a lot of the guages that I need for these aircraft. As far as I can tell- there have been no guages included in the zip files for these new aircraft. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I can be reached at my email address DrTrowbridge@comcast.net and I will check back to this forum frequently, but I would much prefer an email from any helpful individuals out there. Thank you in advance. R.E. Trowbridge

Unfortunately the gauges are M$ licensed, so no its illegal to distribute them, however its quite easy to substitute gauges from standard into panels, or alternatively look in the panel downloads for other panels you might prefer.
Aliasing gauges is quite simple in the aircrafts panel folder is a file called panel.cfg. If you go into that then all you have to do is change the name of the gauge you want there into one you have, don't alter the co-ordinates! And next time you fire up FS2k2 you should have the gauge there ;)

Double check the aircraft folders for a seperate gauge folder or zip file and make sure the gauge files are placed in the default gauge folder. Gauge files end with .gau to do a search for gauge files just enter *.gau in the search pane.

I use FS2002 Standard Edition, too. What I've been doing is collecting gauges that are similar, and have the same function as the ones that are use exclusively in FS2KPro. That way there's not licence infringement.

Check here at SimV in the Gauges Download section. And, also go over to www.fsgauges.com and see if there's anything that you could use in place of the missing Pro gauges.
