I downloaded a plane that had instructions on how to turn the sound quality up, in a .cfg file for FS2002. I also found a line that said something like 'Speakers=2", and changing it to speakers=4 led to surround sound. However, I cannot find this again, nor the instructions on how to turn the sound quality up again. =\

This isn't that important as my motherboard died and is on RMA, and my onboard sound was 5.1. I would like to know how to do it for when my board gets back.

 You could use your search feature to find the Fs2002.cfg file, which has the sound section. You could edit it from there.
