Blurry Letters on Screen

Postby Cherokee_6 » Tue Aug 19, 2003 1:38 pm

Hello All,

Can someone explain why the letters on my screen are blurry?
I have a Nvidia 64 megs vid card and I just reinstalled drivers version 40.72.
My pc is a 2 gig processor with 256 Ram.

This pic does not really show it well but you can notice how the information on my heading and Frame rates has little black lines around them. Also any smaller words on the panel are blurry and not very clear.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

(also note how the Aircanada Heavy is getting in crap from the ATC for not following instructions!)  ;D

No idea, but what the hell panel is that?  LOL I want it!

(Though it doesn't seem to be a heavy panel.  Looks more like a beautiful panel for a twin turboprop...)
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.

Looks like the one FSTipster used in his round-the-world flight...anyone has a status update over him?

And blurry letters.... i see a LOT of JPEG artifacts...

But for the blurriness, is it possible that the background bitmap is bigger than your screen setting?

Probably only the width of it, but that could be it

I wish it was the beer!
But its not and the background bipmap is the same size as the screen.
I cropped a piece out of the original picture that was too big to load. Because I had to reduce the quality on the original it was hard to see what I was talking about.

Its almost like the letters have shadows or something...

It does that for everyone I believe, just you are careful enough to notice it, just turn it off and fly like the rest of us. ;)

It's Shift + Z by the way, lol. 8) ;)

I have that same effect on my GeForpce 4 MX440 SE when I display my info on screen, but for my way of thinking, I only want the info and don't really give a hoot at how its presented to me, as long as I can make it out and my main graphics are clean..........check any of my posts which may show it....although I usually crop it out or turn it off, I do have my most recent one in payware showing it........ in the "Bryce " thread........

in FS2000 you get that effect with FSAA on (or only texture sharpening) just ignore it

Have you tried changing the settings in display? Sometimes they cause weird effects. I turned off mip mapping recently (can't remember why I turned it on...), and the difference in FPS and display quality was amazing.

Ozzy ;)
