Please, can anyone tell me how to create ILS frequencies and how I can get my aircraft to tune them in.
Thanks.

Well, you can not create an ILS frequency unless you create your own airport using FSSC (free) or A & SD by Abacus (not free). To tune an ILS frequency, you tune it into the NAV1 radio. Not all airports have an ILS system either.

It would help as to define exactly what you mean by creating an ILS frequency.
I will assume you asking about the default ILS facility in FS. If this doesn't help post back and some one else can hopefully give you a better answer.
1st you need to set your self up for a landing at an airport that provides an ILS approach on a runway.
2nd you need to locate the ILS frequency for that runway or which ever runway ATC tell you. The easiest way to do this is to go to the map, click on the airport, then again click on airport and scroll down to the bottom of the page to where you see the runway information, here it will indicate the runways whic are ILS aided and there frequencies. Note the frequency of the runway you are landing on and return to your cockpit.
3rd Now with the frequency, and the runway heading you can set your self up for an ILS approach. You need to enter the ILS frequency into either the NAV1 or NAV2 radio. Once a frequency is entered, a morse code will sound Identyfying the frequency to the runway you have just dialed in. In real life you need to double check this morse code to the excact beeps especially if you landing at an airport with multiple ILS facilities. Also, don't get the beeping confused with the ADF morse code used for NDB's, this can be very embarrising.
Or you need to do now is set your OBS on your VOR gauge to the heading set for the runway and wait for ATC to guide you to intercept the localizer. Once established you will soon see the BLUE Outer marker light flashing in the cockpit and will be advised by ATC to contact the tower. Keep both needles centered, and stick to the standard 3 degree glide slope, and everything should fall into place. (with practise)
I apoligise if you know all this already, and you are specifically asking how do you ceate an ILS on an airport that doesn't faciliate one, but it gave me something to do before I leave for work.
Either way, I hope it helps
Good Luck

Hi You can easily create an ILS freq if you have Flight Sim Scenery Creator (FSSC) or the latest version of "Airport). I think it's 2.6 or 2.8 - whatever. Firstly line up your a/c squarely at your start location on the rwy of your choice. Use slew and run your a/c up and down the rwy a few times to make sure it's squared up. Stop your a/c somewhere about 3/4s of the way down the rwy. Write down the heading, the latitude, the longitude, and the altitude. Go into slew mode and hit the spacebar - go up the directory and choose World and then Map View. In map view read your heading which will be plus or minus some degrees off of magnetic north. Write this figure down also as it gives you the deviation between true north and magnetic north which you'll need later.
Once you have all this info from FS you are ready to go into your scenery design program and create your ILS. You'll probably have to create a rwy as this is the start point for the scenery programs mentioned above. The ILS system is incorporated into the design of a complete rwy so you'll probably have to create a rwy. After you've entered all the ILS info you gleaned from FS - you can simply delete the unwanted rwy. Give the bgl file created a name such as ILSNYK.bgl or whatever.
I might have missed a step or two here but if you're diligent and read things carefully you'll be okay. Stick the bgl file you created in your ADDON scenery directory (preferred) or the Scenery DB directory where your tiny little file will get lost amongst all the FS original files. Start FS - go up to World again and open Scenery Database. Select ADD Scenery and then browse to your file in ADDON Scenery. When you've found it click OK and Bob's your uncle!
Good luck / Nek

Nek,
I have been using FS Scenery Creator for a long time, but I never realized that I could use it to add ILS frequencies until I read your post.

The fun of being a simmer, perhaps, but the importance of being a SimV-er! Precisely why I'm here so frequently.
