Some of the acft. I d/l contain a thumbs.db file. What function does this file play in the operation of the aircraft? Thanks

You are probably safe deleting these.  I always have with no ill effects.  Here's a general blurb about them, but the author doesn't seem to be an expert. http://www.fcs.iastate.edu/computer/tip ... efault.htm

In FS I think they're left over from the design programs.

If you're still worried just create a subfolder (I always call mine DumpMe) and if nothing bad happens in a month delete it.

Jim, thanks much. I thought " thumbs" was related only to FS2K2, the link you provided suggests otherwise. Your info very helpful........ Doug

I asked that question some time back and was told it was a database from paintshop pro and it is ok to delete them -- they are not part of fs2k2 and do not affect the aircraft.

Thumbs.db is a Windows file and has no effect on the operation of the downloaded files (aircraft, panel, sound, texture, etc.).
