3rd Party Software???

Ok, I'll start from the begining....
Here I was yesterday, flying around just fine. And today...
For any of you who have the overhead console, or whatnot, I guess it's called 3rd party software.

Well, I just flew in the same plane today, and it said there was an error with the 3rd thing and all the switches are gone off the overhead. The design is there but thats it. It was working fine yesterday. No new add-ons... Help?

Could you be a little more specific as to what overhead panel you are referring to. Also, could you be specific as to what the error message. With that information it would be easier to answer your question.

:) The error that you are showing is caused by some older gauges that wion't work properly with Fs2002. There is a work around for this. Use your serch feature on windows and finf the Fs2002.cfg folder. You can open it with any text editor, such as notepad.
Include this section, this is mine for an example:
[OLDMODULES]

FSSound.dll=1
GAUGES\crj.gpws.gau=1
Gauges\gps777.gau=1
Make sure you add your line correctly. If not it will not work. You can get the gauges name from the error message. The first part is the directory. Copy it exactly as is into you Fs2002.cfg folder and you ahould not have any further problems.
If so post again.

Here's another 3rd party software issue.  Got this while trying to load my F-117 I just downloaded.  I assume the solution will be similar . . .

Hey John, Still no luck. Ok, this is what I think your talking about. Go under the FS2002 cfg file under windows explorer. (notepad)
Add that section to the bottom. (copied it) and it should work?

P.S. If you highlight aircraft model with your mouse, the caption on the bottom of the screen still says...
"All FS2000 planes will appear here"
They forgot to change the 2000.  ;D

Ender,

I have the same F-117.  It's an FS98 or 2000 model but it doesn't give me any problems.  Have you applied the OldModules fix?

The picture is a B-2, though, not an F-117.  You're not trying to apply a different texture, are you?

Hamlet doesn't make much sense unless you finish the quote , "what dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil must give us pause."

 When you add the line to your OLD modules section, make sure that at the end of the line you add =1. This is a true/false statement. 1=True or On, 0=Off or False.
That error message will appear when it tries to load something that is incompatible. Also do a search for the gauge in question and see if that gauge is even in the gauges folder of Fs2002.
 Post again if you are having problems.

I'm not 100% sure what the Old Modules fix does, except ensuring compatibility with some older gauges.  A lot of people have had to apply it from time to time.  I installed it when I got John Consterdine's Round the World Beech Baron panel, so if you want to take the time to download that it will explain it better.  Besides, you will need FSound.dll anyway, which is part of that package.

The fix is just getting FSSound.dll then adding to fs2002.cfg:

(OLDMODULES)      <-- Use brackets, not parenths
Fssound.dll=1

But I think your problem lies with the B-2 textures you're trying to use with a F-117 model.

I wasn't trying to load B2 textures on the F-117, that was just the a/c that came up before I tried switching to the F-117.  I have put them both, along with an SR-71 in a section called 'Stealth', and when I click on the F-117 I get the error message.

I think I'll just delete the F-117.  Anything that gives me that much trouble isn't really worth it.  I'll just wait for the 2k2 model. ;D
