Have a major malfunction with the radios in the Baron 58 and the Mooney (both default aircraft). For some unknown reason I'm unable to change frequencies on either the nav or comm. ADF works ok. Not very helpful when trying to navigate VOR. Tried using keyboard commands with no luck. Where did I screw things up? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if you have a software error or biological ( that's operator) error, but from an operator standpoint; both aircraft use the same King radio stack. This is called a "flip/flop" radio. If you have'nt already done it, set the desired frequency in the window on the right(standby), and then using the white switch slightly below and between both frequency windows, switch the standby frequency to active for use.

Thanks for the speedy comeback Ottol but my problem is that I can't set the freq. on any of the radios. When I try to use the keyboard commands the freq. lights up white when I press the n key for the nav radio but when I press either the + or - nothing happens. Tripleace

Bet you're not using the standard panels. Let us know.
If you're using old FS98 'classic' panels for example, this is a common problem. Also autopilot headings only change in 10 deg increments and alt in 1000's.
If you are using std FS2002 panels, have you added any extra switches. See current thread. Many HGHB switches have inbuilt conflicts for FS2002.
Also, have you fiddled with the radios section in the aircraft.cfg file(s)

Hey Rollerball....I'm using the standard default panels on all the fs2002 default aircraft. I checked other aircraft that I have in the hanger and any one that has the same type of radio that the Baron 58 is using has the same problem. No I haven't messed with the panel or aircraft cfg on any of the default aircraft. Would I be able to take a copy of the Baron and replace the one I have? I'd hate to have to un-install the sim and then have to go through the trouble of re-installing all the downloads I have (aircraft, scenery, etc.) Tripleace

Is it possible that you downloaded and/or installed some third-party software that has corrupted that gauge?
My suggestion would be to extract that gauge from the FS2002 Pro disk to your fs2002/Gauges folder and overwrite the existing gauge that you have. I don't use FS2002 Pro, but I would guess the file name would be something like "Beech_Baron.Radio_Stack.gau.
Re-installing the radio stack to your gauges folder should make a difference...........
Good luck!!

These defaults use the Bendix_King_Radio.gau file.

Hi there emh8...It's very possible that I downloaded a file that messed things up..I started getting aircraft in from other websitesd. Guess I'd better stick to the best (simviation). Anyway, not being very familiar with the doin's of MS2002 Pro, how do I extract the radio info from the disc? I thought if I insert the disc it would want to start installing the program. Insert Disk 1 into the CD-ROM. When the installation window opens, close it.
Go into Windows Explorer, browse to the drive that your fs2002Pro disk is in and look for the file, FS2002.cab. Open the contents using the WinZip Classic Interface, scroll down and find the file, Bendix_King_Radio.gau (Thanks, Jim.) Extract it to your fs2002/Gauges folder and overwrite the existing file.
That should do it!
