When I have these in, (I seem to have DLed a plane that has them) it creates an "HGHB - Open Registry Create" error message, and basically they don't work and FS2K2 doesn't start. Anyone have any recommendations? I tried running FS2K2 with the gauge filenames munged (by adding .bad to the filenames) but it still doesn't work. Now I cannot take off at all, and I really wanted to fly from San Juan to Mexico City.

My system is:

Athlon 1600 XP (1.05 GHz)
Win 2000
512 MB DDR RAM
32 MB Magicvideo video card
SB PCI 512

Seth, I'm afraid that most HGHB gauges in my experience are fraught with problems in FS2002. I think that mainly they were designed for FS98 (I may be wrong) and there are nearly always conflicts in FS2002.

Certainly many of my FS98 'classic' panels that I've modded for FS2002 have had to have HGHB gauges removed/replaced to make them work. Big culprits are switches like the red 'dummy' ones.

Unfortunately many so-called panel designers who just collect gauges from their GAUGES folder and stick em in panels don't know that.

Ugh, that blows! Is there any utility I use that can find the planes that use such gauges so that I can eliminate the planes?

I am already missing the rush of flying through great upper-level winds and the exhilirating feel of the touchdown!

seth, don't forget it's not the planes, it's the panels

If a panel doesn't work properly what I normally do is open up the panel.cfg with notepad or wordpad and see if it contains any gauges I know have problems

If not, then it gets more difficult because if you want to keep it, you have to use CFGEdit and start knocking out gauges (and replacing them if the problem remains) until you can home in on the bad one(s).

I'm just doing an Airbus panel which is one of my lovely fs98 ones where I'm having to replace the autopilot and several switches (strobes, nav lights, aircon, pitot heat and another I've forgotten) because all of them together cause the radio problem.

Even leaving one of the 5 in leaves the problem. It's weird

It worked! I used Windows Find File and searched the Aircraft directory panel.cfgs for text HGHB, and then I investigated my most recent planes where I added panels. I found that my new 737 panel has some of those gauges, as does the 757 panel, so I replaced them with the default 737 and 777 panels, respectively.

Now I'm lifting off from San Juan on an LTU red-eye to Mexico City. Thanks for your help!
