Hello everyone!
I have a question that has been bugging me in the past few days. How can I turn my local time to Zulu time? and what is GMT time? Thanks. (US Eastern Coast, Daylight Savings time)

Hey dude....GMT is Greenwich Mean Time. Basically it's the time in England. The reason for this is to set a standard time that everyone can use worldwide.
Here on the east coast (I'm in NY), we're GMT-4 (so if it's noon there, it's 8AM here)...we do change at one point so that we're five hours behind (GMT-5), but I never remember when that is.
As for zulu, I don't THINK it's the same as GMT, but I could be mistaken. There's a thread about 2 weeks back that addresses this very issue.

Okay, if I'm understanding this correctly:
It's 3:13 PM ET...that means it's 8:13 PM in England.
That would make it 2013 GMT.
GMT and Zulu time being the same, that means that if it's 3:13 here, it's 2013 Zulu.
3:13 would be 1513, Zulu would be 2013.

by the way, zulu time uses a 24 hour base (also known as military time), not 12 hours. 8:00 pm would be 2000.

Okay, right now it's 1701 EDT (that's US eastern time w/ daylight savings), which translates to 2101 GMT, which also translates to 2101 Zulu. Right now under DST, we're -4 hours GMT
When the eastern coast no longer observes Daylight Savings Time, we're back to -5 GMT. GMT(Zulu) does not observe DST.
Hope that helps.

but you are adding 4, instead of subtracting 4, which would be 00 hours military which would be 0001 Zulu......I am so lost
