ATC Calls

Postby Scottler » Wed Jul 16, 2003 7:16 pm

Hey....I just recently discovered PAI, and was fortunate enough to have someone show me how simple it was to get real AI traffic...

I'll probably figure it out when I fly again, but I don't know when I'll do that, so I'm asking here.

When the AI traffic is in the sim, will I hear ATC call out to these planes, as I used to with the default (which I think is French for CRAP) AI traffic?  Will they use the real airline names?

If not, how can I accomplish this?

Thanks!
Great edit, Bob.

Not that I know of. I am not too sure about this but the voice packs for ATC are limited. To get them to say an airline name you would have to edit some sound files, etc...........for example, they don't say American Airlines because they can't, it is not there in the files for them to say that. So they say the callsign.

Scott,

For what you are likely trying to accomplish, EditVoicePack is a nice tool.

I'll take a look at it when I get home from work this afternoon, even if I do still think Julie Bowen is hotter.   ;)  Thanks!

Most of the PAI stuff will have proper callsigns (and proper flight numbers, too!) so that if you're sitting at Heathrow, you might very well hear Midland 91 on final shortly followed by Iberia 834 while Speedbird 285 waits for takeoff. It's pretty awesome!

Hmmm...that sounds like what I was wondering.  I didn't want to be sitting in Miami and hear "Boeing 737 you're cleared to land" or "Experimental 777 turn base", etc....thanks.  I'll check it out when I get home tonight.

http://projectai.flight1.net/

It's an AI traffic site that will very easily put real world airliners into your F$....in other words, a second ago I landed (phew) in Newark, a Continental Hub.

Try it now, sorry about that.

Also, for those of you in this thread, the answer to my question is yes, ATC does call "American 344" and so on.  It's an amazing addition!  God Bless PAI!  lol
