Hey Eric, ya out there? What's the best software for building your own aircraft? I'm tired of stealing everyone else's.

Are you talking to me? ;D ;D ;D

I'm really not the right person to ask about design.

Ottol, if you want a free program you need to get gmax (but you'll need FS 2k2Pro for the gamepack).
If you can afford a few bucks, then FSDS2 is the one to have.

Isn't Gmax a more powerful tool if you know how to use it?  It doesn't have everything (like a drop down list with stock animation names), but it does its job.

I use Gmax.  I might have thought about FSDS2 but for CFS3 you need Gmax.  Since I develop things for FS2002 and CFS3, just using Gmax I can do both.

Check out http://www.discreet.com/products/gmax/ for GMAX and plugins.

Still a free download, last time I checked.

From what I understand it is the best, but the learning curve is rather high.
I just don't have the patience.

Is that FSDS2 easy to use? I can't figure out how Gmax works.

Yes donnie, FSDS2 is easy to use... But, remember it isn't free.  I think it costs somewhere in the neighborhood of $50 (US) and can be obtained here... www.abacuspub.com
