Yokes

Years ago (like when 98 was first released) I had picked up a CH Products yoke.  It was, to say the least, mediocre at best.  It had some good qualities, but one thing I didn't like was the cheesy throttle mounted to the top of the casing.

Does anyone know of any REALLY good flight yoke systems available for F$2K2?  It would be great if I could find one with super-realistic throttles (like the one I saw in the store but for some reason never bought), or the capability to attach my Saitek X-45 throttle to it.  (The X-45 is a two piece unit with a stick and a throttle that attaches via a cable.)

Thanks!

ive got an usb version of the chfsyoke, this has three levers on top. But I took the levers out and build a Boeig 737 throttle quadrant (sort of) with them.
It works perfectly.

Haha...really?  Got a photo of that by any chance?  I'd LOVE to see how it came out!  That's awesome!

Scott,

Seems to me that in surfing around the web I have seen a number of yokes and control modules that might fit the bill for you.  Can't remember the details though.  Some web searches with Google should give you some hits.

What I do seem to remember is that there are some real "toys" out there....... then the CH products USB yoke/throttle unit (and pedals) occupyiong the mid-range price and quality ground.... and then you jump suddelny to the BIG $ and the really NICE controls.

For me, the roughly $260 for the CH Yoke and pedal combo is the "pipe dream" solution right now.   Paying a couple hundred bucks alone for a simulated "heavy" throttle quadrant with four engine controls is a total fantasy.

If your budget for this type of stuff is BIG...... there are AMAZING commercial offerings already....... radio stacks that look real with real LED tunable displays, consoles with switches and buttons...... all sorts of stuff.

However.... if I ever "hit" the lottery...... there'll be a heck of a dedicated simulator sitting somewhere  in the house.  ;)

best,

.....................john
