Graphics Card Trouble?

Hello again,

This is a question for all the graphics card specialists out there, I have a GeForce 3 Ti 200 128MB DDR card, and literally all 3D Games I buy I have jerky problems/stuttering problems with, now is it a driver issue? if so can anyone point me to some good drivers?

I'm currently using the 41.09's they are pretty good with all my other games, but then again most if not all are not so demanding in the Graphics department.

My card is not old, I've not had it a year yet, although not far off.......the chap I got it from, who built my PC at the time said that this card would last a fair old while, I cannot upgrade every time something better comes out, as I cannot work, due to ill health, and therefore have to make do with what I have, I've tried many many different settings for this game and none improve the smoothness, I know trade-off is required in this game so I don't set all settings to max, but even when I have the default settings after having just installed the game, the performance is still poor.

Surely some-one can tell me which drivers for my card would be best......please!

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I remember people saying for Nvidia cards the 30.82 drivers are quite good for FS. Has the sim being running where the performance was smooth? If so try and delete anything that you have downloaded recently to see if that helps.

Have a look for the 30.82 drivers and try them, I'm a bit vague on this as I've got an ATI card

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hello Paul,

That's ok I realise not everyone has my card, I wish they did though, very easy then to know what's the best drivers lol

I remember now you saying 30.82's as I read that somewhere a long time back, but had forgotton what ones, thanks for the reminder.  ;D

Well all I know is that when I had installed the sim as is out of the box and nothing else, yes it was smooth I guess, but then again I did'nt try the Flight Video part then.

But after I'd installed the gaem and had taken the getting started flight, I went online and started dowload upon download and have just put in all the Airlines from PAI amongst two addon scenaries that I bought for the UK.

Looks like my system can't handle it all,  :(

Oh well another uninstall coming on I feel  :(

Sounds like the answer.

My system slows down to a snails pace when I add loads of POSKY and Meljet AI

Silly I know  ::)...............oh Well  ;D

I've used a Geforce2 MX400 for a while and just bought a GeforceFX 5200, which is similar to your card. I used the 44.03 drivers on both and they work great. You may also wish to download a program called Riva tuner from www.guru3d.com. It allows you to tweak the preformance of your drivers and allows you to set up options that the Display Properties window doesn't have..

Thanks chaps,

I must ask though, that if I remove the PAI etc......is the games AI good enough on its own? will there still be jets flying around instead of just Cessna's?

Only I flew around a bit when I installed game as is without addons and it looked pretty bear at the Airports.

I still had the default aircraft flying around...that included 737s, etc.  They're very rare though.  Nothing like you get with PAI..

And what makes PAI so good is that they used real (and accurate) flight schedules, so if you're at all familiar with the real schedules, you're in for quite the shock!
