Fuel

Hi everyone

I don't know if this is a glitch or I'm reading the gauges wrong, or theres an error in the aircraft I downloaded?

I'm flying a B727-200, I set the fuel to 75% left center and right, this gives a total of 40,648 Lbs of fuel.  When I start the simulation the left and right gauges both read 102 (x1000) surely this means I've got 204,000lbs of fuel? ???  or is it 10.2 x 1000 and they've omitted the decimal point?

i've had a similar problem with a helicopter before, and i find out that the fuel gauge needle would not move until i had spent like 75% of my tank

maybe it's the gauge that's reading wrong, that seems to happen when you use fuel gauges from other planes

i'm not sure if that's the same problem you're having....

I got annoyed with fuel gauges enough that I went and found specs for range etc that I could find, worked out fuel consumption, adjusted the Aircraft file and now fly on pounds/hour and time.

I think it's just the way the sim calculates and reports fuel load. So, I don't pay too much attention to it.

On long hauls, I usually use my C-5. The fuel load on that is so large that it really doesn't matter. I'll only change the fuel settings to simulate different cargo loads, anyway.

Wouldn't that be the crossfeed switch?

Dunno, I'm afraid of buttons I don't know about, I'll have to check.

That would be the Cross Feed switch. (x-Feed).

But not all panels have that switch on them. I know I'm probably blowing the hell out of authenticity, but I seldom include a x-Feed switch in any of my panels.

???

Phil,

Glad you figured out what the fuel gauges were telling you!!!

Sounds more like you are trying can change the fuel capacity in each tank, which can be done by editing the Aircraft.cfg file, but in your case I would discourage it.
