ever since i got my new computer running windows XP i've been having some strange graphical issues

1.multitexturing is gone (checkbox is turned on. but no effect on the game)

2.no reflective textures (it must have omething to do with the multitexturing bug)

3.weird purple "stain" on the 2d panel, really odd, it appears and dissapears when i click on the panel, but it keeps coming back. and the size and shape of the stain varys with the aircraft

it's not directx, i just updated it to 9.0
and i just reinstalled fs2002
could it be a graphical card issue?

here go my system specs:

athlon xp2000
asus a7 s333 motherboard
1 gig ram ddr 333mhz
geforce4 mx440 64mb video card
running windows xp

Have you added the following lines to your diplay.cfg file at the end of the GeForce 2 section:

NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440
[000010DE:00000171]
DriverValidate2=1

Just what exactly does that line do ozzy?   I have been trying to tweak things in for a while.  and getting better and better results Just for fun I plugged that in where you said.  Only replacing the geforce 440 line with my geforce 5200.  What do you know the science experiment worked.  My resolution is a lot clearer and the image more crisp have also gained a frame or 2 per second.  don't know what it does but thanx

I hate to tell you,but it was something else you tweaked,or it was a placebo effect and you think something improved,lol,because that fix is only for the MX440.There is a problem with the card & FS and that line fixes it.

 Guess that was wishful thinkin'. oh well guess I'll reverse before something bad happens.
