The Saitek X-45 may be a good joystick but i use the The Microsoft Sidewinder Pro & Microsoft force feedback Pro. They are the best as far as i am concerned.

I'll admit, I do wish I could get the X-45 with Force...But the sticks I've experimented with that have force all seem to "fighter-esque", and lack a certain commercial airliner realism...

Once I stumbled across a KILLER stick, but I didn't buy it  :-/  (Still don't know why!)  The throttles on it looked EXACTLY like those on a 737...it had reversers, TO/GA, everything....oh well.  lol

Ultimate stick would be the X-45 throttles with a decent yoke.

Yup. Cyborg 3D Gold, USB. Best one I've had.

And49288;

Have you checked to see if CH has a jet flight yoke that doesn't look like a Cessna yoke?

Not sure if they even make something like that.

;D logitech wingman pro, it'll do until I can convert the shed into a cockpit with proper rudder and throttle control. But then 'er in doors 'll probably complain about the lawnmowers thown across the lawn.

Just wondering if any sim has actually gone that far? :o

Just to add i did have a Logitech forcefeed back  which disintergrated after a few months of use so never again, there is no feel to this stick Im using now .
I like to feel some resistance if thats the word im looking for.

Is there anyway to give this stick some feel to it until i can get my hands on a decent stick. Thinking about getting a Microsoft

I've just noticed that advert flashing away at the top of the page with a nice steering column and rudder peddals, but I enjoy jetliners, wheres the two or four throttle controls? and during autopilot does the FS move the throttles and steering stick back and forwards as it would do in a real airplane.?  ???

Not that I'm griping, just curious you know.

And farther....

Check out sites like projectmagenta.com (among others) and you'll find full motion sims, I was even reading a site on a guy who (with the help of his dad) was able to secure two abandoned aircraft in Texas (a 747 and a 737 if I remember correctly!)  They then cut the pits off, hauled em home (though one caught fire, damage was repairable), and are currently transforming them.

There are TONS of homebuilts out there.  Even a site which will sell you a replica cockpit shell (737) for $3,500...then you put the guts in.

Dell keyboard until I get a USB to Gameport adapter.
On my old computer Thrustmaster Xfighter/Attack Throttle/Elite pedals. They are old but still work great.
If thrustmaster still made them looking psuedo military,  I'd buy new ones but they look like they came off of the millenium Falcon now.
How do the newer model TM's work now?

I use the Thrustmaster Top Gun Afterburner II
Image
It has 8 buttons, a hat switch and you can use the twisty joystick or the throttle switch as a rudder.
