helicopter questions

Postby wish_bear » Wed Jul 09, 2003 2:27 pm

Does anyone know how to make a helicopter work as one and not as a fixed wing craft in FS2002? Is that something that can be done or just something to hope is fixed in the next version?

Em, are you using fs2002, or fs2000 or fs98, anything before that they handled like planes but the above mentions all fly like helicopters.

Phew, I'm not the only one who is confused by the question.  lol  About the only thing the rotor wings have in common with fixed wing in 2K2 is their ability to leave the surface of the earth.  (And some are similarly colored.)
Great edit, Bob.

??? ??? ???

I think that helicopter of FS2002 are not aircraft. I foun that aircraft were easy to fly but helicopter took me one week to manage as aircraft took me 10seconds

Sorry my question confused you all....
Using FS2002

Although you can fly a helicopter in this program- it seems to have more (flight dynamic) characteristics of a fixed wing (airplane) than the flight dynamics of a helicopter. Am I the only one that feels this way?

Also- does anyone know how to solve the fact that the helicopter and its blade come in separately when used as AI. The blade is the correct orientation to the tarmac, but the body is floating above ground at a 90 degree angle.

That might have something to do with Helos not being designed for AI use in the first place ;)

I've found that helos in FS operate nothing like fixed wing aircraft....I can at least get the fixed wings off the deck!   LOL ;)

I must agree with all... The helicopters fly nothing like the fixed wing, even though I can get them off the ground... I often times struggle to get them back onto the ground in one piece, I still manage to do so with great difficulty... Fixed winged on the other hand is no problem!
:P
