Does anyone know how to create landing lights on a non-microsoft plane?  Is it done in the aircraft.cfg or when you are making the plane?

They're built into the model.  I asked the same thing and there was a discussion about it a week or 2 ago, if you want to look back a few pages.

If you want to actually add the body (housing, lens, etc.) of the lights.. you need to edit the model (source file required).

If you just want to add the lighting "effect" ..that can be done for any aircraft (I believe) in the aircraft.cfg file.

I've noticed a lot of "That's been asked and answered yesterday" type posts....short of slapping people for not going back and reading previous posts, is there anything that can be done to prevent this?  lol

Sounds like it should belong in the DESIGN section if you ask me... But, on another note... The landing lights are built within the .MDL file (I know it has already been answered) and can't be modified without the appropriate application (FSDS, FSDS2 or GMAX) and the source file itself.
