Annoying Voice!

If anyone here has one of those planes that tells you your altitude help me out here.
Its not really annoying actually. I have a plane that has it, but I want to switch it over to another plane that doesn't have it. I've already done pretty much everything to do this. I've copied the sound file and all the sounds from the one that has it. It changes it's sound but doesn't have the voice. I don't know why this is. I have every sound file the other one has.

Because it is a GPWS (Ground Proximity Warning System), and it is actually a GAUGE and that GAUGE must be applied to the new aircraft's panel.

Well, if it tells you your altitude, I suppose it would have to be linked to the altimeter some way or another. There should be a line in the panel cfg. for the altimeter. Go to the original aircraft and copy the line. Put it into the place of the altimeter line in the aircraft that the sound is not heard in and see if that works.

BE58D beat me to it, so that's why my post says basically the same thing. I'm not trying to plaigerize (or however that is spelled). ;) :)

"Information Just To Have..."

The GPWS voice in your aircraft is the exact one in use on B777's. Fact.

So, these guys hear that voice, for a living! ;)

Yup, it is a gauge, that's available in the Gauges Section. There's also another .wav download file that goes with GPWS. You should use that too. But, there is a button or light that needs to be placed on the panel. CfgEdit will work, in a pinch, to edit your panel and place the button/light because it's not an .xml gauge.

You won't need to remove the altimeter, because GPWS is a gauge, by itself. It's a seperate gauge from the altimeter. You can simply add the line to the panel.cfg file too, but you'll need to install the gauge and .wav files first, per the instructions.
