Hi, guys

I am a new pilot here, so i may ask many silly questions to you.

My situation is: When i land with ils Approach, in the middle of the approaching, the approach button will turn off automatically. At different airports, the situation different. For example, I can use approach all the way to land perfectly at jakatar airport. However, HK is the worst. when the aircraft adjusting heading, suddenly approach button off. After it comes back, i am so far from the runway heading already. My ils frequency is correct, NAV mode and runway heading ok. What is the problem? Can anyone help me? I am very frustrated for this.

Thanks for your help.

I also have the same problem. I thought NAV was supposed to bring you into the center of the runway. Is there any way that we can tell before we fly to the airport so we do not have to guess which A/P function to use? Is there something in the Flight Planner that tells us which A/P settings to use for that destination airport?

while flying press Alt, menu bar appears, go to world ->map view->double click on your airport ->scroll down and read the correct ILS frequency and runway heading

enter this frequency in your NAV1 radio and make sure it's active

enter the runway heading in your 'course'

set the NAV/GPS switch to NAV

put on the A/P and click on APR

now your AC will allign with the runway centerline!

note: the NAV button in the A/P has nothing to do with the ILS, it's only for holding a certain heading inserted in your 'heading'

hope this helps
