Hello everyone, once again, your friendly forum AstroGeek with a few questions.

What is the difference between Mesh and Landclass, they are the same right?

And say i download one for Florida, will it hit my FPS hard? Or is it normal like the default one?

Lastly, what are some know glithces with it, and would you recommend them? Thanks. ::)

Mesh controlls the terrain, like mountains and hills

Landclass controlls the textures and autogen.

I'm pretty sure this is the case, if i'm wrong, someone please correct me ;)

I have installed Landclass Scenery for San Francisco and Los Angeles, and all stops in between... ;D...!
LOL...!
It certainly improves all the scenery, texture, hills, etc, and it makes the scenery accurate according to the relief maps of the areas.
It has little or no effect on my frame rates... ;D...!

Well worth installing if you fly over a limited area, (The Land Class Scenery covers certain defined areas and you have to select them individually).

Cheers... ;D...!

P.S. ...the only thing to remember, if you fly on-line with your mates, they wont be able to share your lovely new scenery down below....Tee-Hee... ;D...!

Hi Andrew...
LOL...LOL...LOL...!
It's just that Uncle Bill made such a good job of the scenery for the ******* area, and I've got REALLY used to it since my "Flight Unlimited 2" days...LOL...!
But...
Live there... ::)....?
NAH...
A very dangerous place, according to the local news which I log into every night... :o...!
I like flying over the top and avoid all the shooting/killing/raping/pillage going on down below... ;)...!
LOL...LOL...LOL...!

Cheers mate...
Paul.
(England)...nice and peacefull... ;D...!

I don't know how to install them. I don't understand the directions. I tried it as an add-on scenery, and as i expected, it didn't work. Can anyone light up my path?

I wouldn't suggest Fozzer does that, especially if he intends to wear his leather biker getup. lol  ;D Enough gay joke, lets get down to business.

You install terrain meshes like you would any other scenery, through the scenery library. I usually install them in the SCENEDB folder. For the library to work correctly you'll have to create a folder for your mesh. Move the new mesh into that folder and within this new folder, create two new folders labeled "Scenery" and "Texture". Put all the BGL files into Scenery and if there are no textures, leave that folder empty. Then load the mesh through the Scenery Library in FS2002. The folders have to be set up that specific way or the Library won't recognize them for some reason.
There are meshes for all of the USA and southern Canada available at http://www.simviation.com/fsdterrainusa.htm

A description I read explained Terrain Mesh as being the skeleton of the body while Landclass was the skin.
A simple but fair description?
