Can't climb above FL270

Greetings,
For some reason, I can't seem to get any of the jets above FL270 at all. Once I cross 27,000 feet in a controled climb, my airspeed falls off and I stall. Thus bringing me back down to 20,000 and then gradually climbing again back to 34,000. You can imagine my "passangers" don't like the roller coaster ride very much.
Any suggestions on busting though 27,000??
Thanks!!

Which aircraft are you using?
It might be that you need to lessen the angle of climb, as FS2k2 does get quite realistic on the thinning atmosphere issue.

if you fly a heavy like a 747, make sure your pitch isn't too high and accellerate enough...if you fly at 25000ft with a 747 at 0.50 mach, you are screwed...

Ya this seems to happen with all the jets (737, 757, 777). I've got the autopilot set with the VSI at ~ 1800. Should I lower the value as the plane gets higher? If so, what's the "stepping" process for getting above 30,000?
Thanks!

Manta;
The "Step Climb" is a little different for different aircraft, but I've found climbing at 10,000 ft. intervals is simple enough. You'd figure breaking up the climb into 3rds would take you to FL300 nice and easy.
Also, check and make sure you're using "True Airspeed" instead of "Indicated Airspeed".

Ya I just tried it again with a climb rate of only 1000 FPM and as soon as I cross FL270, my airspeed sinks and I stall, bringing me back down to FL200. Flaps are up, gear is up, and both engines running at full throttle. Airspeed is "locked" at 340 at about %90 power during the climb, but when I hit 270, the A/P kicks the throttles to the firewall and I start losing airspeed. Guess I'm destined for a life below the clouds ???
