Included in the addon scenery files is a 'Read Me' file.

Make sure you read and understand the instructions before you attempt any changes.

You may not have and will require some essential utilities that are available here at Simv.

Other utilities may be also be required and the author of the addon will advise you of anything needed to complete a successfull installation :)

I have also found myself wondering if it were possible to add static scenery such as ramp equipment, baggage carts, etc...

Or better yet...NON-static scenery.  Imagine having to taxi around the ramps and the taxiways but while you're doing so, some idiot on a bag cart goes flying by.  That would rock!  Maybe in 2k6...lol

A lot of payware airports have non-static scenery. The SimFlyers airports all have active docking systems, where you'll get stairs to the aircraft, and lots of small support trucks driving over to your aircraft. It's pretty awesome just to sit and watch a plane come into the airport and get attended to.

Invest in one of the SimFlyers airports, or even some of Gary Summons' UK2000 airports. They're all pretty awesome with non-static baggage and fuel trucks driving around the place!

Getting back to the original question you might find my tute helpful. http://www.simviation.com/lair/fs2002sc.htm

This is usually referred to as Dynamic scenery. It's already possible & some existing freeware scenery includes a few dynamic objects. There's a couple of recent threads on the subject in the Scenery Design forum.
