How to start Su-27

Postby WebbPA » Fri Jun 20, 2003 8:11 pm

Does anyone know how to start the engines in this Su-27 (http://www.simviation.com/fs2002military20.htm)?

You have to have the plane to understand the question.  Ctrl - E doesn't work.  Instead it has some strange procedure that involves flicking a lot of buttons.

I don't speak Russian ::) ::)

Jim;

I wrote the above statement while the
plane was down loading, but now feel it is
a fair statement in dealing with this "aircraft"?

That is a piece of crap!! 11 of the gauges gave
me a 3rd party message, first thing the engines
die, goto the instructions and try open them, get
a "can't find window 95 text converter, so I click on that
and get Fatal error message, computor self destructs, have to reboot, wait for the disc clean up thing to run its course,

Reading the readmes the builder says, and I quote
"Don't email me I don't have time for people who
can't read the instructions"!!!
THE BIN is where this one belongs!!!

If I had those problems I would have chucked it long ago but I figured out after the first time how to avoid the gauge problem (I only had one gauge warning).

Looking at the dates on some of the files I think it's an FS2000 model.

Mine loads fine with the engines running at startup and I have even flown it around.  It's a nice model, physically and esthetically.

But the engines eventually die and have to be restarted.  I can't start them on the ground or in the air.

I'm starting to agree with your assessment, though, because I think the author should not have disabled Ctrl-E.  The "realistic" startup sequence is a cute touch but even if it worked I wouldn't want to memorize it and go through it every time.

I'm leaning towards dumping it.

fly, going to post a shot in a few!!

Thanks but I already dumped it.

I got the Peter Davies model (flanker.zip) and the Johan Peeters panel (su27pnl.zip) and I'm in hog heaven (as we say in the South).

Try that combo.  The panel takes a while to figure out but it's worth the trouble (keep thinking Shift -F2).
