Hyper-Slew

Does anyone else have this problem?

I'll start FS, pick my a/c and my origin field...then of course it will start me on the active.

So I try to slew to the gates, and when I take it out of slew mode, my throttles are at 100% and it slams me into the terminal.  I've done EVERYTHING to try to avoide this, but it never fails.  (Although come to think of it, I'm not sure if it does it on all my planes.  I'll have to check when I get home from work tonight.)  Even if I quickly jump out of slew to drop the throttles down, when I go back into slew and then back out again, they're at 100%!  (And yes, the throttle quadrant on my stick is at idle.)

Weird...

Scott,

Yes.  I have had similar things happen when I come out of slew mode.  As a result I try to avoid using slew mode when I park at a gate.

Hopefully you are aware that you can begin your simulations at the gate as oposed to starting at the active runway every time! When you pick your starting location, go to the bottom where it says "Active Runway" and click on the drop-down menu.  If that particular airport has other start locations available, they will show up on the list.

Erik :)

Here's the funny thing...Yes, I DID know that, but it wasn't until I read your reply that I remembered it.  haha  I'm usually just anxious to get going and I don't even bother reading the dang screen.  I should probably stop doing that.  Thanks!

one more thing if you decide to slew.
after you slew to your spot, push "A" or F1. This will put your plane on the ground. If your wheels are not on the ground, FS2002 thinks you are in the air and starts you at 250mph

lol good point...now that I've been hit upside the head, I won't be slewing at all.  Thanks though!
