When you push back a plane from the gate at an airport, how do you turn it left and right? I know that it's the keypad buttons 1 and 2, but it doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions?

I don't know whether you have to hold down the button or just press it but it takes awhile. It's not instant, when the plane gets as far back as it should go, that's when it usually turns, and then it'll stop once it's turned about 90 degrees.

it takes the plane to travel its length before it turns usually, and you have to press 1-2 quickly after shift-p  and dont press anything else after 1 or 2 to avoid conflict

Try forgetting the pushback and do it yourself

Just slam it in full reverse and dopn't forget the rudder works the other way around and that it will react quite bad on it

A nice tool for pushing back from the gate is Rob Berendregt's Pushback Gauge, which allows you set a timer and degree of turn in either direction for the pushback.

I like this gauge because there are other features that can be added on to it, including the taxispeed gauge.

If you search "utilities" here at Simviation, you should be able to find it. ;)

It never worked for me....
I do it the easy way...........[SHIFT] P , take it off, full throttle, idle throttle, brake, sharp turn, center rudder, taxi as normal.
ALways works for me

You have to use the 1-2 keys on the top row of the keyboard, not the numberpad.  Also, I've heard you have to keep the same view after pressing Shift+P.  I can get it to back up straight, turn both directions and center up again if I want after doing the Shift+P once.  It takes practice at first.

Yes, make sure you're not using the keypad numbers.  Trust me, if you do, you'll have quite an interesting climb out.   ;D
