I'm not sure exactly what you want but if it's advice on how to get the recording into .wav format then you'll need a sound card that accepts input from whatever recorder you used. A good sound editing program to trim it down and edit it is also a must. Just do a search on Google, Yahoo or any other decent search engine for sound editing programs. Some can be expensive but they usually have way more than you'll need. Go for a freebie or a cheap one. It doesn't take much editing for your purpose.

The size can be whatever you want (within reason) I think. Just keep it close to the same size of similar files from any good add on aircraft you have or a default FS2002 aircraft.

Kind of sounds like Otto's asking how to configure his recorded sound files for use in an aircraft.

I would suppose a sound.cfg file needs to be created for the sounds to be used by an aircraft in the simulator. But, I wouldn't know where to even start.
That is, of course, If you already have the sounds on your computer as .wav files. If not, and they're still on your tape recorder, then the advise the guys, above, gave would be the way to go, first.

One of these guys must know.

All of the free to try sound editors i've tried ( or heards about ) you can't save in any of them until you buy it. Which stinks. Why download it if you can't save? But if its good then i guess its worth the buy.

Oh, and the best i've heard so far is Sonic Foundry 6.0, which you need to buy but if you ARE going to buy something, i recommend that one, well i don't, other people do.
