Hi all....back again finally!  I have ordered an alienware laptop with a ATI Radeon 9000 video card with 128 meg of mem. The question I am asking is: I've always used Nvidia cards and am wondering about graphics quality with the new card?  I am set to recieve the laptop on Tuesday and want to get all the surprises out of the way before i start loading software. FS2K2 is my # 1 game of play. Feed-back is GREATLY appreciated as always. Jay

yeah, i personally use nvidia, but i have used ati, and both preform equally.....they even use an ati chip for the graphics nintendo gamegube......only thing is with all that preformence i wouldn't expect too much battery life

HA! Battery Life? What's that?  Machine will probably always be on a wall socket anyway, but wanted something much more portable for lan partys. AND of course that 4 letter word-> "WORK".

one piece of advice,
dont allow it to stay connected to the wall power.
i have a laptop and done the same, now i have two minutes of battery power
where possible allow the battery to fully charge then discharge, and make sure thats done at least once a week or your battery will go deader than elvis:)

Oh yea Y2, definitely know to do that. And from what I read about these laptops it takes about 40 minutes to discharge and 18 hrs for a full recharge. I just sold a Compaq armada 7800 that would recharge a depleted battery in about 1 hr. That for a older system was a great laptop w\ dvd too. Hope the new owner treats it right because they'll be very happy for what they paid.
AND I hope I'm seriously happy for what I paid for my new one...........not a cheap purchase at all.
