Is anyone here using Joseph Stearns addon manager ap22v523??  If so how do you like it? Any problems?  I am thinking about trying it but wanted to get some feed back from the folks here first.  Any other comments about on managers welcome also.  Thanks. :)

Hi Jerry. I never use addon managers. I can't speak for them all but some can cause problems by overwriting default files. Not a good idea when installing addons designed for earlier sims. It's much better to learn to install stuff manually. IMHO
This is not difficult & you will learn much more about the structure of FS. Very useful if anything goes wrong.

I'm with Hagar.

I suppose they might save you a minute or two in time here and there, but for the risk you take in using them, I'd never consider it worth it.

The problem with these kind of utilities is they work (well hopefully they work - it's not guaranteed) on a fixed set of assumptions about file structure.

These days, it's my experience that add-ons don't all use a uniform file structure. You can come badly unstuck.
