Hey, Tipster;

I wanted to get WM, but I wanted to know, how bad does it impact the framerates?

Thanks.

Well I only use it when I can't get access to on-line weather, but as far as I've been able to tell, none whatsoever.

It probably does result in a reduction, but if so, it's not been noticeable on my system.

Like with anything you have while running FS it is going to take a hit.  But to be completely honest, I really cannot tell the difference when it is running and when it is not.  The biggest deal is going to be in your display settings.  For instance how many clouds do you have showing, etc.   I enjoy it more than any other weather program.  Plus it is easy to use.  Try it out, If it isn't working out for you, it is easy to unistall and the best part is, it was free....

Thanks, guys. I might give it a try.
I usually keep my settings around mid-ways, depending on the aircraft, and area I'm at. But, when I added more memory, a few weeks ago, the performance improved across the board.

Thanks, again
Al

1.4 is an off-line only generator.

The second url I mentioned above will give you info on a forthcoming real weather download version but I suspect it will be payware (although very good from the sounds of it).

However if Microsoft and Chris Willis (very thinly disguised beta-tester LOL) are to be believed, you may not need a 3rd party utility after the release of FS2004.
