Windows XP and Gauge issues

:)I recently purchased a new system that had windows XP installed. I moved my Fs2002 pro version into the new system and there are certain aircraft that load with third party gauge errors. I have entered these gauges into the FS2002.cfg folder under Old Modules with the required format and the errors still persist.
On the old machine which was purchased with Windows ME and upgraded to Windows XP I never encountered these problems Is The problem related to a Windows XP only machine? Anybody know of any fixes or workarounds.
Any help would be appreciated?

Hi John,

It is certainly possible, but I've never encountered it myself. Some older gauges aren't liked by FS2002, but if you've had them working before, that isn't the problem. Could you post the old modules entry in your FS2002.cfg file please?

Other things to consider are do you have FSUIPC and Visual Basic files installed on your new PC yet? Some gauges rely on them.

Edit: The absence of FSSound.dll can also produce this effect for certain gauges

Thanks Tipster for the reply,
 This is a copy of my Old Modules entry:
           [OLDMODULES]

FSSound.dll=1
GAUGES\DOOR-WHM.GAU=1
GAUGES\crj.gpws.gau=1
Gauges\gps777.gau=1

After looking at your reply, I thinkk that you may have found one of the issues. I have not as of yet put FSUIPC in the new machine. I forgot that it interfaces with FS2002 and that might explain why my old computers FS2002 works with minimal problems. I will let you know if that was the problem.

:)Tipster,
    Thanks for your help. I tried all your suggestions and found that my FSsound.dll was in the wrong folder. Once put in the proper folder, all the gauges in question are working properly.
