I Need some help, I really enjoy flying the IFDG 757-200, it's really easy to fly and great fun. However, when filing a flight plan at high altitudes, say above FL310 I find ATC doesn't give you enough time to ascend to the designated altitude and cancels the IFR flight plan. Usually I keep the standard setting of 1800 Feet per minute, I find if I increase this to 2500-3000 etc, the plane stalls!!! Even at max thrust.!!

Icing equipment is on when necessary and the sim is set to max realism. Any ideas folks?

About the flight plan, are you talking about the automatic flight plan generated when you create a flight and select "High altitude airways" etc..?
I always found the cruising altitude to be a mere sugestion.
They dont fit many times with the plane carachteristics or with the distance to be made. I remember flying the Concord wich requires usually alitudes above 50 000 ft, the flight plans, even the trans-atlantics sugested a 25-35 thousand feet.

Perhaps I miss understood your question, but idealy you should stick with the plane characteristics, the weather condicions and the normal airways altitudes.

Indeed, I am referring to the automatic High Altitude Airways plan generated, I often increase the altitude myself though, as I don't really fancy cruising over the rockies at FL180  8)

I'm really not sure about your flight planning but what you have to remember is that thing is only going to go up at a certain rate.
Go back and have a look at your flight plan and aircraft setup.
