Tower view location

How can I change the location of the tower view during replays? I have active camera if someone has suggestions on configuring that.
I want to watch approaches and landings from ground level without the camera moving behind buildings when it is supposed to be from the tower, what's up with that anyway?
Isn't there a way to fix the view from a little off the runway as though you were actually there?

Yes, I just got it and have been messing with it, do you have a good set up to recommend for the view I'm trying to achieve?
It's kind of funny how tower view is really not the view from the tower at all is it?

Yes, indeed. Unfortunately, I'm not at my home computer so I can't check my settings. I don't think I have it set up the way you describe it, but I wanted to make sure you have the pro version. I hope someone may be able to shed light on this for you.

I would just like a steady ground level or tower view that doesn't get interupted by a building.

I have been trying to get this view as well! There are some screenshots of people doing landings at other airports then the ones they took off from, so I know its possilble

I played with this the other day and I was not able to figure it out...unless I am missing something...
Hope you get an answer on this one! ;D ???

Hey Paz, been to your website...enjoyed. OK, this probably isn't the "normal" way to do what you are asking...but it is what I do to get the effect you are looking for.
1. Activate Active camera "flybye" mode.
2. Fly around to where ever you are going.
3. Now when you are landing in real time, after you land and come to the end of the runway, toggle your view to the FLYBY mode so it is "floating" outside the front of the plane and Press PAUSE.
4. Now De-Activate the "Flybye" mode and now the view is where you left it in "flybye".
5. Now you can go to instant replay and toggle views. One of those views will be at the end of the runway at ground level

If you go into Map view in FS2002, you can drag the tower and, (if I remember rightly), it's view with it, to anywhere you like.
If you have active camera installed, this view is "hijacked" by the AC software to provide the fly by view.

Just turn off flyby view and ACpro won't hijack.
Another way is if you have FSNavigator. Right click anywhere on the map; anyplace where it won't bring up the information in the bubble, or too fast for it to bring up the bubble. Then click "Place tower view here" or something like that. If you clicked fast enough, or in an area where the bubble doesn't show, a new box pops up, asking for the elevation of the new tower view. Just put about 5ft higher than the elevation of the airport, and you end up "standing" on the ground, watching your plane fly over in instant replay from the end of the runway.
Here's an example:

P.S. if you have good sounds, crank up your speakers and listen to the Dopplar Effect in action! (Altec Lansing Surround Sound THX speakers work well for this

)

Where can I get FSNavigator? I can't find it here, I'll search some other sites.
Tipster, I'll try your suggestion too, with everyones ideas I should eventually have the view I'm looking for.

FSNav is payware, but there's a trial version for 20 openings in FS every time you press the F9 key. However, in all sim pilots (at least those I've talked to), FSNav is a must have.

Well, I've got it all worked out.
I have to thank everyone for their suggestions, I discovered the tower on the map view and yes, you can move that bugger where ever you want, perfect!
I got the 747-200 ready for pushback add-on in the mail today, and after taking a KLM around for a test flight I made a picture perfect landing, then spent the next hour watching the replay from every imaginable angle!
It just keeps getting better and better!
