???
Okay...I downloaded the monster huge AirLuxor 767-200ER  at a whopping 30MB. I unzipped it and it had a self executable extraction like many acft do. Well, I chose my FS2002 root folder and began the installation. I tried flying the acft but I couldn't find it. Looked in the acft folder and couldn't find it. Any suggestions?

30mb? what is it...a new flightsim?  ::) where did you find it?

about your problem...if you can't find it in your aircraft folder, it didn't install there, but maybe it did in another folder. do a search for the A/C's map in the whole FS2002 folder. or check out the gauges or sound files, are they in the correct folder?

Ugh - the self installer. Root of more problems than I care to mention.

Eric, I hope this hasn't screwed up, but odds are that it has.

Self-installers are advocated as the "easy" way of installing aircraft, particularly for those who aren't overly familiar with the file and folder structure of FS2002.

The problem is that hardly anyone's FS2002 is the same and installers tend to make assumptions based on a default setup.

I'd always recommend setting up a dummy folder named FS2002 on your desktop and installing to there. You can then see what files are being placed in which folders and decide if that's a) correct and b) what you want. The other problem with them is they overwrite gauges. All very well if they're definitely the latest versions being used, but otherwise....

I'd try doing a re-install of the aircraft to a dummy folder and seeing what it does in the way of file placement. That could give you a pointer as to what's happened inside your FS2002 folder.
