I am new to FS2002 and am trying to find something that would add the sounds typically called out by the computer on approach... i.e. "1000 feet", "100 feet", "50 feet", etc.
Anyone have suggestions on where I can find something like that?

Hi John,
An excellent but little know utility for doing what you want is called "S-Combo" by Dave March.
It's free, and you can get it here:
http://www.simviation.com/fsdsounds.htmIt's on the bottom half of the page.
This program runs in the background while FS is running, and gives you altitude callouts, checklists, everything really.
You will also need the latest version of FSUIPC, an interface program. You can get this here:
http://www.simviation.com/fs2002utilities_ess1.htmHope that helps!

Just the first file, the rest are extra "voice sets", in case the F/O included is too annoying! ;)

Also in the SimV Sounds catagory there's a GPWS for FS98, which works great in FS2002.
It allows you to add approach altitude callouts to any panel. I believe there's a gauge in there that adds a Terrain and Glideslope warning, too.

I have never seen that particular error message before.
Have a look at the main screen for S-Combo, and click "install check" to see if you are missing any important files.
Also
http://www.mypitch.co.uk has useful info.
Let me know how you get on.

You need the upgrade to version 2, available at
http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?DLID=11634 . Well worth it!

There's a simpler method, if you already have a panel /aircraft with callout sounds. Some panels have invisible callout 'gauges' that activate at particular altitudes. If you look in the appropriate panel.cfg file, you will normally see them in the main window gauge listing - normally easy to identify as the have 'callout' as part of the name. (Same for GPWS.)
Copy and paste this line into the panel/aircraft you want the callout in (remembering to change the gauge number to the next sequential one), and there you are.
If you don't have the gauge, you should be able to locate a free-standing callout gauge on one of the main download sites.

If you don't want to use S-Combo, you can use PMSounds from Project Magenta.
http://www.projectmagenta.com/products/pmsounds.htmlIt has all the GPWS sounds and had alt. alert which sounds realistic. Plus much much more. And it is only 1.3 mb.
Project Magenta also has a working TCAS that will run in a separate window that you can call up whenever you want or have the window on top.
