Is there anyone out there that has been able to figure out how to make MSFS to start up from the menu page, rather than start in a plane on the runway?  This really doesn't make any sense to me.  If anyone can help I sure would be quite happy.

I'm a little puzzled here.

Are you saying that when you starrt the sim, it automatically takes you straight to the runway bypassing the Select a Flight/Create a Flight etc. menu?

LOL - yes, you take it correctly.

It's the first time I've ever heard of it doing this.

Has it always done this or is this a recent change?

(If you only just installed it, I'd recommend uninstalling it and trying again.)

this is always happened minus the very first time that I started MSFS.  Is there something that you know of, that I need to check or not check to make the menu come up before I start my flight.

When flight simulator puts you at the runway, go to the menu bar (Alt if you're in full screen mode) and select Options/Settings/General.

Put a cross in the "Show opening screen" checkbox at the top.
